Matthew Jull is a registered architect and has a dual background in architecture (MArch Harvard GSD) and geophysics (PhD Cambridge University, UK). As a geophysicist he has carried out several researches funded by the National Science Foundation and taught both in the U.S. and France, probing the fundamental processes that shape Earth via computational techniques of solid/fluid and chemical dynamics. Prior to founding KUTONOTUK, he has worked at SOM New York, Stephen Holl New York/Beijing, and most recently from 2008-12 as an architect and project leader at OMA/Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam, and brings design and project management experience for cultural, institutional, commercial, and preservation projects. Jull is currently an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Virginia.Co-director of Arctic Design Group.
